How to improve my relationship with food

I hear it all the time... "I want to improve my relationship with food"

I hear from clients, prospective clients, on social media, friends, and even strangers.

 

When I noticed how much I hear that, I stopped for a moment to reflect and understand what that really means to me.

So, first I looked up the definition of the word relationship.

 

The definition is: the way in which two or more people or things are connected, or the state of being connected.

 

The definition of connection is: the action of linking one thing with another.

 

Relationship with food is simply your connection with it.

It's a neutral thing, it's not good or bad.

 

For example, we all have internet connection.

It's a neutral thing, until you have a thought about it.

Like: "This is super slow" or "What a wonderful speed"

 

The thought about the connection is what determines how you feel about it.

 

Relationship and connection with food is also neutral.

It is only good or bad depending on the thoughts you have about it.

 

What's your thoughts about food?

What's your thoughts about your relationship with food?

 

Food is neutral - is not good, is not bad!

Your thoughts about food will make you feel good or bad towards it. 

 

So, it is very important to be aware of what kind of thoughts you have.

Relationship is only your thoughts about the thing or person.

 

Write your thoughts down and be aware of them, then we can work together to change them. This way you will definitely improve your relationship with food.
