Do you wish you were different?
Do you think you shouldn’t have to deal with overeating?
Do you ever just try to ignore the fact that you have a bad relationship with food and hope it will go away?
If you answered yes to these, then you’re not accepting.
You are arguing with reality and when you do this, you lose just 100% of the time.
You can wish, ignore, hope and want but these won’t inspire action.
You’re just sitting there waiting for things to happen instead of making them happen.
Right now you are someone who is struggling with a bad relationship with food, overeating, and overweight.
You’re in the body that you’re in.
Getting upset about it isn’t going to change!
Accepting will bring you to a more neutral place.
A place you can see clearly what needs to be changed and how to change it.
There’s a misconception that if you accept where you are now, then you won’t change.
But this is NOT true and accepting your starting point is an important first step to take before making changes.
Work on bringing yourself to a place of acceptance.
This is your truth right now.
You can absolutely change this truth, but start with looking at the reality of your life without judgment and without argument.
“I’m someone who is struggling with overeating. This is where I am right now. This does not mean I have to be this way forever, but this is my current reality”
Recite these thoughts every day for a week, or your version of them.
Accept where you are, then you can move towards changing!
